Improving the Quality of Youth Work

NYA is developing a professional pathway for qualification in youth work from level 1 to level 8.

At the moment youth support workers are qualified to level 2 and 3, and professional youth workers with a degree or post graduate qualification to level 6.

We are working to create qualifications for new levels 4 and 5, creating more flexibility to help more people train in youth work.

Youth Work in Practice Award and Certificate

NYA is a training and awarding body for youth work skills.

Our Youth Work in Practice Award or Certificate is a four day course at level 2/3 comprising units on Theory of Youth Work, Safeguarding in a Youth Work Setting, Young people’s Development, Engaging and Communicating with young people.

The course contributes to a youth worker’s continuing professional development and increases their confidence, skills and knowledge. We deliver this course to sports clubs to train their academy staff in youth work skills. Learn more.

We can offer this qualification for large groups – please contact us for more information.

In September I am cycling 200 miles to raise money for Cancer Research UK in honour of my step mum who lost her battle at the weekend.
As a non-cyclist this is no mean feat!
Please feel free to sponsor me if you can by donating to Cancer Research UK
