The National Youth Agency has pledged its support for National Safeguarding Day, a day of action organised by the National Council for Voluntary Youth Service (NCVYS).
NCVYS is calling on all children and youth organisations to make 27 February 2015 the day they review and take positive action to improve their safeguarding practices.
The Stop, Look and Listen campaign asks groups to take time out to stop what they are doing, look at their safeguarding practices and listen to young people, empowering them to take an active role in managing their own safety.
This annual national safeguarding campaign aims to unite the youth sector in demonstrating its commitment to the highest standards of safeguarding policies and practices.
The National Youth Agency pledges to support its apprentices and youth advisory group to develop their safe guarding knowledge, giving them the tools they need enhance and lead the work of the agency in this vital area. In addition to this, the National Youth Agency pledges to raise awareness of the Stop, Look, and Listen campaign through its social media channels.
