NYA welcomes new recruits to its youth advisory group

27 Feb 2015

We are delighted to welcome a new cohort of young people to our youth advisory group for 2015.

Our youth advisory group (YAG) is a collection of young people aged 16 – 24 who work with us in a voluntary capacity and act as independent advisors to help ensure young people are at the heart of everything we do.

Nakita Whitworth, Aaron Sparks and Rebecca Rollings visited our Leicester office on Wednesday 18 February to get to know each other and find out what it means to be part of the group.

The new members have lots to look forward to over the coming months and will be able to get involved with a diverse range of activities including opportunities for training, developing a participation strategy, shadowing senior staff, judging national awards, consulting young people, writing funding bids, attending events and recruiting new staff.

Three members of last year’s YAG, Shane Bear, Amanda Watson and Heather Wildsmith are now youth advisory mentors and will be supporting the new recruits to make the most of their time working with NYA.
