The Environment Now’ team members Heather and Lydia attended the Digital Leaders 100 Awards to represent our proudly shortlisted ‘Cross Sector Digital Collaboration’ between NYA, O2’s Go Think Big and Our Bright Future.
They were joined by Sam and Emily, two young people from ‘The Environment Now’ who had been shortlisted for the ‘Young Digital Leader of the Year’ Award. The Environment Now has provided support, training and £10,000 funding grants for 50 young people aged 17-24 years to create unique digital ideas to help the environment.
100 digital leaders attended the event with the top 10 having been shortlisted in the 10 award categories. With tough competition on the night, the ‘Cross Sector Digital collaboration of the Year’ went to RE:CODE London, Mayor of London, LEGO® Group and Institute of Imagination and the ‘Young Digital Leader of the Year’ went to Vimla Appadoo.
Our Young Person’s Coordinator for The Environment Now, Heather Wildsmith said, “It was amazing to meet all of the nominees and to hear about the impactful work they’re doing. It was also an incredible achievement for Sam and Emily to be nominated. To be there to celebrate that with them and the team was great!”
An amazing night was had by all, we’re honoured to have been recognised as one of the top 10 Cross Sector Digital Collaborations and to have two of our young change makers recognised as two of the top 10 Young Digital Leaders in the country.
The Environment Now is funded by O2 and the National Lottery’s Big Lottery Fund through Our Bright Future.
It is managed by the National Youth Agency.
