SUMMARY:Offsite Safety Management
DESCRIPTION:This fun and highly engaging two-day in-person course aims to help youth workers and/or managers responsible for youth work activities. \n\n\n\nThis fun and highly engaging two-day in-person course aims to help youth workers and/or managers responsible for practical youth work activities\, off-site trips and visits\, to make these experiences safer for young people\, and the staff supporting them. This course will utilise a range of practical tasks and engaging workshops designed to highlight the risk issues you might encounter in a range of youth programmes\, off-site activities and residential settings\, this is more than the normal classroom-based training!  \n\n\n\nAccredited by the Royal Geographical Society (RGS)\, the original course was designed in response to concerns about safety in off-site activities. Pharos has enhanced the standard syllabus to make it specific for the youth sector\, including use of practical ‘hands-on’ risk assessments. It is far from a normal ‘health and safety’ training course and although the course covers the core H&S legislation\, it explores how these can enable rather than block good quality youth work.  \n\n\n\nThe course brings the legislation to life by providing an opportunity for attendees to explore its application in practical\, highly relevant situations. It aims to equip attendees with the ability to apply knowledge\, understanding and problem solving skills in a range of contexts.  \n\n\n\nThe training fully complements the resources on the NYA Safeguarding and Risk Management Hub here.

SUMMARY:Digital Safeguarding - Lite Bite 4: The rise and risks of AI CSAM
DESCRIPTION:This is the final of a four-part online webinar series designed to equip youth workers with the knowledge\, confidence\, and practical tools to address emerging digital safeguarding challenges. \n\n\n\nFunded by the Department of Culture\, Media and Sport (DCMS) the series brings together sector experts and youth workers to reflect on the evolving digital landscape impacting young lives and encourage discussion on youth work approaches to addressing digital safeguarding risks in youth work settings. \n\n\n\nCo-delivered with sector experts ChildNet this series aims to: \n\n\n\n\n– Build awareness of key and emerging digital safeguarding risks affecting young people. \n\n\n\n– Increase understanding of how these risks may present in youth work settings. \n\n\n\n– Share insights from sector experts and current practice. \n\n\n\n– Signpost resources and next steps for youth workers. \n\n\n\n\nThis webinar will unpack the growing use of AI-generated content\, including deepfakes\, and the implications for online trust\, consent\, and exploitation.
