About the Roadshow
Join the NYA as we embark on a nationwide roadshow of events. Working with our Regional Youth Work Unit and university partners we will be visiting all nine English regions to engage with youth work practitioners, organisations, funders and commissioners to shape and inform national policies, funding priorities and professional guidance; including,
- APPG Youth Affairs inquiry on youth work: led by NYA with cross-party recommendations on the role and impact of youth work
- The Government’s review of statutory guidance and forthcoming spending review: to help define what are ‘sufficient’ levels of youth work and the statutory role of youth services
- The development and support for Local Youth Partnerships: to help shape models of delivery and regional investment in youth work
- National qualifications and opening up career pathways for youth work: to include consultation on the 5-year review of Level 2 & 3 youth work qualifications
There will also be opportunities for delegates to discuss the recently published Youth Covenant and the Government’s proposed Youth Charter, ‘supporting young people in the present, ambitious for their future’ underpinned by the youth work values and practice.
As the national body for youth work the NYA supports the network of thousands or youth workers and organisations across England. Our role is to set the standards for youth work qualifications, and the development of a skilled workforce of professionals and volunteers. Led by evidence-based research and peer learning, supported by universities and as key sector partner to local authorities and regional networks, our work is recognised by Government and commissioners in quality standards for youth services, local projects and national programmes, and Hear By Right for young people.
*A small fee covers core costs and refreshments. No one however should be excluded so contact us via email@example.com if you have any challenges attending and we’ll be pleased to help.
