Corporate partnerships

Youth work provides young people with somewhere safe to go and fun activities delivered by a trusted adult. It gives them the opportunity to develop their skills, find their passions, set their goals and unlock their potential.

Why partner with us?

With a surge in school absence rates following the pandemic, children’s mental health services unable to cope with demand, the risks of gangs and exploitation, together with the pressure upon families due to the cost-of-living crisis, now more than ever young people need a trusted adult to support and guide them.

Reports such as our Better Together: Youth Work with Schools report and Social cost of youth work cuts evidence the urgent demand for youth workers embedded in solutions to improve engagement with school, promote community cohesion and reduce the risk of young people falling prey to gangs and exploitation.

With the support of a youth worker young people are empowered to make informed decisions, have a voice on the issues that matter to them, enabled to participate proactively in their communities and crucially, to stay well and safe.

Your support will help us to reach more young people through the power of youth work and provide them with the tools to successfully navigate through their lives and deal with the challenges they may be faced with.

The benefits of partnering with the NYA

By becoming a corporate partner you can help improve access to the life-changing impact of youth work to young people who most need it.

Boost employee engagement

Your work with the NYA will reflect your strong ethos around social responsibility to your employees and will help you to attract and retain staff who are aligned to your values.

Brand visibility

We will work with you to identify opportunities for your brand to be seen by young people and professionals working with young people. Your brand association with the NYA will help enhance your reputation as an organisation with a social conscience, which may be attractive to investors and consumers.

Opportunities for skills development

We don’t just base the quality of our relationship on your financial contribution, but on the skills, knowledge and resources that are of mutual benefit. As well as offering potential employee development opportunities, the insights gathered from our partnership work may inform your commercial activities or products.

We want to work with partners whose ethos and aims align with our mission and values so that our partnerships can create the most impact for young people and their futures.

If you feel as passionately about creating positive futures for young people as we do, and think we could create a great partnership, we’d love to have a conversation to explore how we can work together.

How you can partner with us to make a difference

By working with the NYA you can help us change more young lives through youth work and be part of influencing youth policy at a national level.

There are a variety of ways you can work with us:

Support research activity

You can help us build the body of knowledge on youth work impact as well as the barriers and challenges to accessing provision by commissioning research projects.

Use you levy transfer contribution to train more youth workers

Organisations with a pay bill of more than £3 million are required to contribute to the Apprenticeship Levy Transfer Scheme.

By directing your contribution towards youth work qualifications, you could help youth work organisations up-skill existing staff or volunteers without any costs to them, which could help improve their provision and benefit more young people in their area.

The apprenticeships will help more people gain a Level 3, which provides the skills and knowledge to become a qualified Youth Support Worker and the Level 6, equivalent to a degree, which will enable progression into a leadership role.

Share skills and expertise with us

It’s likely that you have skills and expertise that would benefit the aims of the NYA, be that management consultancy, mentoring, or helping us to deliver projects. Other areas that you might have expertise in could be software development or data analysis that would support our research and evaluation work.

Personalised partnerships

We understand that all organisations are different and that is why we will work with you to make sure that our partnership is tailored to the needs of your organisation. Through great conversations we will make sure that we create a partnership that is mutually beneficial.

“Harnessing the unique skills and resources of both organisations we have achieved remarkable outcomes for young people throughout England in 2023, and we are thrilled with the impactful results this innovative partnership has achieved in a remarkably short period.”

NatWest Bank

In 2022, NatWest Bank, together with Marcus Rashford MBE and youth campaigner, approached the NYA to discuss how they could work with us to transform young people’s futures. The bank wanted to offer more than just a financial wellbeing programme – they wanted to enable 1 million young people to gain the tools and resilience to turn their ambitions into reality.

Working with our youth work specialists we devised NatWest Thrive, comprising a suite of interactive sessions which youth workers can deliver in their clubs to build young people’s confidence with money, learn how to set goals and develop the growth mindset to achieve them.

Research commissioned by NatWest in 2023 revealed that just under half of 16 – 21 year olds (48%) felt they lacked knowledge when it comes to saving money, and three quarters (75%) were worried about the cost of living crisis impacting their finances, proving that NatWest Thrive is needed more than ever.

Following a successful pilot involving 15 clubs and reaching 836 young people in 2022, NatWest committed to fund the programme for a further five years to reach hundreds more young people.

NatWest has also invested in our mission to build the capacity of the youth work sector by committing almost £3 million worth of training through its apprenticeship Levy Transfer scheme by 2028.

Furthermore, NatWest employees and youth work organisations are reaping the benefits of a volunteer scheme which sees staff inspiring young people through youth club sessions, as well as offering business expertise to promote the management and sustainability of clubs.

“We are delighted to be collaborating with NatWest to help deliver these life-changing opportunities for young people and to invest in building the skills and capacity of the youth work sector. Government investment in youth services has been devastated for over a decade and young people’s mental health has suffered due to the pandemic; now with the cost of living crisis youth work is needed more than ever to support young people to cope with all the challenges they are facing, give them a platform to have a voice on the issues that matter to them, as well as to unlock their talents and help them reach for their dreams.”
