These examples of actual practice have been provided to stimulate ideas when planning activities linked to the health and wellbeing curriculum theme – you can use and adapt them to suit the young people you work with.
Examples:
Healthy Eating project/activity:
Build life skills, independent living and budgeting skills, healthier eating choices, to develop a better awareness/understanding of food hygiene, basic cleanliness and an understanding of health & safety.

Education campaign recommendations:
Young people make recommendations to improve the PSHE curriculum in their region. Conducting research and presenting to their schools, public health or policy advisors.

Boxing/fitness sessions:
Activity to engage with young people and support the development of relationships and self-discipline. Such programmes also increase physical fitness and mental wellbeing and can lead to increased confidence and reflection.
Inclusive outdoor pursuits:
Co-developed outdoor adventures with young people to ensure activities like paddleboarding, cycling, campcraft and orienteering/geocaching respond to the needs of young people with disabilities.
