This comprehensive course explores the unique safeguarding needs of disabled young people, emphasising their rights and the importance of their inclusion in various youth work settings.
A free, interactive and self-paced course, exploring the unique safeguarding needs of disabled young people and those with special educational needs (SEN). You’ll gain practical strategies, legal insights, and inclusive practices which you can apply within in your youth work setting.

- Develop inclusive safeguarding strategies that reflect disabled young people’s needs

Across five chapters, you’ll explore key topics such as understanding the risks, protective factors, institutional abuse, contextual safeguarding, intersectionality and the communication barriers experienced by disabled young people.
Case studies, reflective activities and chapter knowledge checks will reinforce your learning, and you will receive a Certificate of Completion and Digital Badge from the National Youth Agency on completion.
