This short course follows our comprehensive training course on risk assessments, tailored specifically for staff engaged in youth work. This course is designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills necessary to conduct a youth work health and safety risk assessment, aligning with your organisation’s legal duty of care.
The safety and well-being of both young people and staff involved in youth work are paramount in delivering high-quality programs. Please note that this module does not cover individualised risk assessments for young people, which are integrated into your organisation’s broader safeguarding procedures. Your employer bears the responsibility of furnishing additional information, instruction, training, and supervision as needed for your specific role and responsibilities.
This course has been designed to encompass a wide spectrum of youth work scenarios, in collaboration with the Safeguarding and Risk Management Hub and in response to the Safeguarding Standards for the Youth Work Sector.
This course offers a practical learning experience. It features a worked scenario and a community project involving a sponsored litter cleanup along a canal, developed by Pharos Response in collaboration with the National Youth Agency (NYA).
