Hi, I’m Fera, I’m 17, and studying Biology, Chemistry and Drama at A Level plus an EPQ (Extended Project Qualification – an extended Level 3 course that can be taken alongside A Levels). I love all things arts, and am a musician – I sing for the CBSO Youth Chorus, and am working towards my Grade 7 in Singing! I’m also trying (but failing) to teach myself guitar.
I love science and aspire to be a clinical academic in the future. I’m really passionate about the next generation and all the things we’re going to be able to do to make the world we live in better. As someone from a minority background, representation is really important. Currently, I work with the University of Birmingham on their CELEBRATE study, which looks at youth involvement in mental health research, and that has given me so much insight into how important our voices are as young people. I am also Research Lead at the Birmingham Women and Children Young People Advisory Group.
