Youth Work Insight: Exploring the impact and value of disabled people in youth work

27 January @ 12:00 pm 1:30 pm

We invite youth workers, organisations, leaders, managers, and policy makers to a dynamic online panel discussion to explore.

This 90 minute facilitated webinar will feature youth workers, ambassadors and sector specialists with lived experience voices, offering insights into their experiences as part of a diverse youth work workforce.

Including disabled youth workers is essential for creating inclusive and empowering environments. For young disabled people, representation is more than symbolic—it advances belonging, confidence, and aspiration. Seeing disabled adults in professional roles challenges stereotypes and demonstrates that success and leadership are achievable for everyone. This representation helps break down feelings of isolation, normalises disability, and promotes equality.

This webinar will:

  • Explore the role of disabled people and their impact on young people’s lives
  • Discuss the youth work journey
  • Challenge the stereotypes and misconceptions about disability in the workplace
  • Discuss the support and accommodations that enable youth workers thrive

For this session we will be joined by these panellists:

  • Christopher Greenhalgh
  • Lorraine Lambert
  • Sammey Ahemd
  • Henry Hughes
