Youth Work Connect – Bringing democratic education to life: The role of youth work   

This webinar is linked to Bringing Democratic Education to Life: Guidance for the Youth Work Sector. It focuses on how youth work can help young people understand democracy in a way that feels real, relevant and connected to their everyday lives.

Informal democratic education is about supporting young people to know their rights, use their voice, take part in decisions and talk about the issues that matter to them. In youth work, this can happen through everyday conversations, group work, decision-making, campaigns, youth voice activities and opportunities for young people to shape change.

This session supports the Youth Work Curriculum by exploring how youth work can help young people develop the knowledge, skills, confidence, and critical thinking needed to engage with democratic life and make informed decisions about issues that affect them.
