Matt Davis is Director of Growth at the National Youth Agency, leading Business Development, the NYA Academy and Digital Youth Work. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, he is responsible for strategic partnerships, organisational growth and innovation, working with government, employers, funders and sector partners to strengthen the Agency and expand opportunities for young people.

With more than 20 years’ experience in the voluntary sector, Matt has built strategic partnerships, secured investment and established new teams, services and initiatives that have strengthened organisations and increased their impact. He is particularly interested in helping organisations adapt, grow and create new opportunities for the people and communities they serve.

Ellie supports a team of Youth Work Specialists to deliver a high quality training offer.

Ellie is passionate about young people having the ability to truly participate and that youth workers come from all walks of life, starting her youth work journey volunteering in a youth café and has since worked in a variety of settings such as within a young persons drug and alcohol service and managing projects for young people whose parents are serving in the military. Ellie believes that those working with young people should have access to up to date, quality training.

Misia leads the NYA Academy team to deliver a range of training and support to develop those in the sector.

Misia has spent the last 22 years working within the education sector, leading schools in areas of high deprivation. She is driven by a desire to improve outcomes for all our young people and remove social and economic disadvantage. 

Misia loves working alongside other professionals, helping them to improve their own practice and develop their skills and talents so they can lead and inspire others.  

Toby Crichton-Kane is the Senior Business Development Officer at the National Youth Agency, leading the Business Development Team and driving strategic partnerships, funding opportunities and business growth that expand the reach and impact of the NYA’s work across England.

With a background in frontline youth work, including roles in alternative provision and the NHS, Toby brings practical sector experience to identifying and developing opportunities that strengthen support for young people and the youth work sector.

Having entered youth work through sport, Toby remains passionate about widening access to high-quality youth work and creating opportunities that enable young people to thrive.

Carl supports the Business Development team by leading on grants and contracts to help grow the reach and sustainability of the NYA.

He works to build partnerships and secure opportunities that enable more young people to access high-quality youth work, with a particular passion for supporting those from underserved communities.

With experience across the youth, education, public, and voluntary sectors, Carl takes a collaborative approach to developing relationships that align with the NYA’s mission and vision. He is committed to ensuring youth participation is recognised and reflected in the opportunities created.

Bex heads up our Digital Youth Work team overseeing the development of Digital Youth Work standards, guidance and training to support the sector navigate through the evolving world of digital technologies.

 Bex is a qualified youth worker, and is creative and passionate about the pathways and opportunities digital youth work presents. Bex is particularly interested in focusing on accessibility as a starting point and ensuring programmes and projects work for all, putting young people and their needs front and centre of youth work.

Alice is passionate about engaging the corporate world in supporting the wellbeing, development, and future success of young people.

As a new member of the Business Development team at the NYA, Alice aims to build impactful commercial relationships and opportunities that create lasting value. With over twenty years of business development experience across local, national, and international markets,

Alice has previously worked within a diverse range of industries as a business development consultant, including publishing, sport and entertainment, food, and forestry. Her extensive experience and commitment to social impact enable her to connect organisations with meaningful opportunities to support young people.
