Acceptable Use of the NYA Logo and Endorsement Marks Policy

As the Professional, Statutory and Regulatory Body (PSRB) for youth work in England, the National Youth Agency uses its name and logo solely in connection with the materials, services and support it provides to promote high-quality youth work. This policy outlines how external partners and other organisations we work with may use our logo and endorsement marks in particular circumstances.

Cyflwyniad

The National Youth Agency (NYA) is proud to support and recognise organisations, projects and resources that contribute to high-quality youth work. As the Professional, Statutory and Regulatory Body (PSRB) for youth work in England, our name, logo and endorsement marks are used to illustrate projects, products and events which it has actively supported in the line of its work to promote high quality and safe youth work.

Our branding is an important symbol of trust and quality within the youth sector. To protect our brand value and ensure that the NYA is not inaccurately associated with organisations or products which it has not endorsed. Please follow the guidance below when acknowledging the NYA’s support, endorsement or partnership activity. All use of NYA branding should relate specifically to the endorsed event, resource, programme or project in question.

Acceptable Use of the NYA Logo and Endorsement Marks

The NYA logo and any associated endorsement marks may only be used in connection with the specific NYA-endorsed event, programme, resource or project for which permission has been granted.

Use of the logo or endorsement mark must be directly linked to the promotion, delivery or reporting of that particular activity and must not be associated with the work of the organisation as a whole.

The logo or endorsement mark must not be used in a way that suggests the National Youth Agency (NYA) endorses, accredits or is affiliated with an entire organisation, its wider services or unrelated activities. For this reason, it must not be displayed as a permanent feature in website headers, footers, email signatures, corporate stationery, social media profiles or other overarching organisational branding.

Any use of the NYA logo or endorsement mark should clearly relate to the specific endorsed project and should not create the impression of an ongoing organisational endorsement beyond the scope of that project.

Exception: Youth Work Week Campaign Materials

An exception applies to materials produced as part of Youth Work Week. Organisations and individuals may use the NYA logo  within the templates, assets and promotional materials provided supplied by the NYA through the official Youth Work Week Campaign Pack.

Use of the NYA logo under this exception is limited to the Youth Work Week campaign and the associated activities delivered by youth work organisations and other stakeholders within the youth sector. The logo must not be extracted from those materials for wider organisational use, nor used in a way that suggests NYA endorses the organisation, its services or activities.

Brand guidelines

Partners and funders may use the NYA logo in line with their partnership, funding or grant contract with the NYA. The NYA’s brand guidelines outline proper use of the NYA logo and colour palette and are available from the NYA’s Communications team upon request.

For significant partnership programmes, the NYA Communications team can support with the production of logo ‘lock up’, joint boilerplate about the project and protocol for sharing key messages about the project or programme in the media, on social media and other channels.

Partners may not reproduce jointly branded assets or content without appropriate written permission and must give acknowledgement where permission has been given to reproduce something. Partners may not copy any content from the NYA website without express permission to do so and without acknowledging/referencing the original source.
